The Equine Health and Welfare Alliance, Inc. (EHWA) is a newly-formed Kentucky-based corporation seeking a 501c3 status.

The EHWA has a core membership of Veterinarians understanding the importance of humane care of all animals, but recognizing that to date equines have failed to secure adequate support of basic needs for quality of life. The membership is not limited to Veterinarians, but certainly all equine organizations, supporters, owners and lovers re encouraged and welcome to join.

The focus will be solely on issues and mechanisms that protect, promote and preserve adequate humane measures of basic needs for the horse.

Veterinarians are the professionals charged with the health and welfare of their patients. The EHWA should be charged with assistance and professional contributions to oversight in matters of the states’ efforts to insure humane care of equines within its borders.

With that, EHWA looks forward to seeking solutions to our most current
problems relating to the horse as well as securing a stable future.

The EHWA is positioned to provide expertise, along with other organizations, in developing strategic plans for state regulatory oversight and improvement of existing conditions and shortfalls.
